Increasing Patient Space for COVID-19 Care with PODS

Tested Proof of Concept
Modified PODS storage containers follow approved plans to expand isolation bed spaces for hospital staff and COVID-19 positive patients.

Healthcare Facility Support
The designed retrofit plans add ventilation, electrical outlets, and transparent doors with room for the patient and space for medical equipment such as ventilators.

Federal Government Purchasing
Federal agencies and other GSA Schedule vendors are reimbursed for their purchase of materials and labor associated with the retrofit [delivery and rental] costs of PODS Isolation Units.

Scalable to Demand
PODS can quickly deploy just a few or hundreds of containers to the authorized retrofit facilities. Once retrofitted, PODS will rapidly deploy them to use inside alternative care facilities thanks to our nationwide network and fleet of more than 220,000 containers.

PODS Solution For Alternative Care Facilities
As demand for patient space inside hospitals and medical centers increase across the country, there has been a surge in requests for site assessments to create alternative care facilities. Outlined in the Arena to Healthcare Concept (A2HC) — COVID Acute Containers plan to modify PODS containers into isolated bed spaces for use on-site at temporary healthcare facilities based inside large, enclosed spaces such as:
- Sports Arenas
- Convention Centers
- Stadiums
- Public Facilities
